A NOTE TO LAWYERS, RECOVERING LAWYERS, AND SQUARE PEGS

I have a soft spot for lawyers. I practiced law for almost ten years, and I now help lawyers and law students stay relevant and drive their careers. They are always ambitious, high functioning people with a lot to give - but they often find themselves unsatisfied and burnt out at work. The reasons for this are numerous. But the important thing to know is that you spend a large portion of your life at work, and it does not have to drain you. I can help you figure out what type of change is best for you right now - whether you want to continue practicing law, or do something else entirely.

I’m also very familiar with the discomfort that arises when you feel like you and your job are no longer a good fit, particularly when your personal values conflict with what you have to do at work. Usually it’s not as obvious as an employer asking you to do something illegal or unethical; it’s much more subtle than that. Maybe management doesn’t walk their own talk, colleagues don’t follow through, or you just don’t see the point of what you do anymore. It’s hard for anyone to survive, let alone thrive, under those circumstances. I can help you view your work the way you want to, which differs a bit for everyone. For you it may be a fuel and asset to your life, a joy and purpose, or a pleasant way to earn money so you can do other important things.
